Dr. Lez Edmond was an American civil rights activist and professor of Psychology. He has authored “African History: An Illustrated Handbook” (1962) and was the chronicler of “Harlem Diary” (1964) which appeared in the Ramparts, a now-defunct major national magazine of the American Left. He had worked closely with several civil rights leaders, including Malcolm X. He was part of the “brain trust” of Malcolm’s Organization of Afro-American Unity (OAAU).
